Add an easy way to bill a patient privately (when the patient does have an active insurer), so there is no way to accidentally submit a private pay service to an insurer.
Ex: 0-3 clients often are with Early Step program and they may authorize only 1 discipline such as Speech therapy. but the SLP identifies the need for more therapy that they won't cover and patient wants to pay privately for more session. Or another discipline like OT or PT may be needed and it is not authorized by Early Step program and needs to be private pay. Since we can not have 2 primary insurers, we end up having to open a second account so the therapists can just write their notes/visits and we can bill without having to turn on and off primary insurers.
I am sure there are other examples if an insurance policy does not cover 1 discipline but covers the other and patient wants both services.
