Right now, appointments on the schedule that have a custom message do not show who canceled the appointment and when (if a patient cancels via reminder).
The custom message at the bottom of the appointment screen is a very important tool for us, as we often have to make notes such as "parent consultation with Dad" or "phone call with this person, minor's counsel-use this number with extension blank" in order to distinguish which parent is attending the session and needs to be billed or to provide extra instructions to the therapist for the appointment, for example, and the subject line simply does not have enough space for us to utilize that area exclusively. Additionally, it is only the custom area that shows up in the appointment history on the patient's profile, not the subject line, so that is important for our records as well. However, seeing a note about when a cancellation was made and by whom is also very important. If someone cancels an hour before the appointment via a reminder, this would be a late cancellation, but without the appended details, we would not have any proof.
